Participant, Tours of People's Homes by Joshua Sofaer_Wunderbar Festival 2009

Do you have a story to tell?
Do you enjoy welcoming people into your home?
Have you ever fancied being a tour guide?
Perhaps you have a collection you want to share, or a talent you want to showcase?

Tours of People's Homes will be a public programme of events that will take place in and around Newcastle and Gateshead in November 2009 as part of the new Wunderbar Festival.

see www.wunderbarfestival.co.uk for more info.

Members of the public will work with internationally acclaimed artist and director Joshua Sofaer over the next few months to develop a tour, or performance, in their own home. They will give their tour to a paying audience as part of the Festival.

The 'tour' could take a number of different approaches, for example a coffee morning, an architectural tour, group decorating session, a meal, or even a sleepover. It will be up to each person to decide how to develop his or her piece.

No performance experience is necessary. All you need is enthusiasm and a willingness to experiment. There is no lower or upper age restriction. We would like to hear from all kinds of people who live in all kinds of different homes.

There is no charge for participating in Tours of People's Homes. Every person involved will have a small materials budget and will receive 50% of ticket takings for their show. Participation will be through selection based on house visits in August.

To be considered as a participant you will need to register. You can do this online, or on one of the paper forms. We need to receive your registration online or by post by Friday 31st July 2009.
